According to the Miami New Times' source, 25 people from Ocean Drive were dismissed and 15 more were given the option to stay through the end of the year in exchange of a big cut in pay.
Vice President of Public Relations Lana Bernstein was one of those job casualties.
The Miami-based magazine's top staff members are also moving to New York, where production and layout duties will be run.
Meanwhile, Niche Media CEO Jason Binn has confirmed that there had also been a lay off at their Philadelphia Style magazine on Monday.
Although Binn declined how many employees were cut from the publication, he assured Philadelphia Daily News that publisher John Colabelli and editor Sarah Schaffer will remain at the magazine.
He told the paper, "We've had to accelerate the realization of our operating efficiency."
Binn also adds that the magazine will increase their issues annually from 6 to 8.
