British Couple In Dubai Gets 3-Month Jail Sentence For Having Sex On The Beach

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (AHN) - A misdemeanor court in Dubai, United Arab Emirates sentenced Thursday a British couple to three months in jail for engaging in public sex in a local beach.

Judge Hamdi Mustafa Abu Il Khair also ordered Michelle Palmer, 36, and Vincent Acors, 34, to pay a $367 fine for drinking liquor in public and to leave the country after serving their sentence.

Palmer and Acors have been on bail and was absent during the announcement of the verdict at the Dubai Court of Misdemeanors. The couple's lawyer will appeal the ruling citing that evidence did not prove that his clients engaged in sexual intercourse and made indecent gestures in Jumeirah beach on July 5.
