Detroit, MI (AHN) - Alex Burrows unloaded the game winner in overtime, helping the Vancouver Canucks topple the Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings 4-3 Thursday night.

Ryan Kesler, Mason Raymond and Jannik Hansen each tallied a goal for the Canucks, who have won three of four to start the season.

Trailing 3-2, Vancouver notched the equalizer three minutes into the third period with a one-time blast from Raymond, who beat Detroit goalie Chris Osgood, to send the game into overtime.

Burrows pounded home the winning shot in the opening seconds of extra session after securing a loose disc.

A Detroit attempt bounced off the end boards that went back to the left circle, enabling Burrows to gather the puck before steering it past Osgood, sealing the game.

Thomas Holmstrom, Brian Rafalski and Dan Clearly each had a goal in the Red Wings' defeat, while Osgood recorded 25 saves.

Netminder Roberto Luongo turned aside 32 Detroit shots in the Vancouver win.

The Canucks play red-hit Buffalo, winners of three straight, Friday.
