AHN Staff Pontiac, MI (AHN) - Five bodies and 22 cremated remains were among those evicted from a foreclosed funeral home in Pontiac, Michigan. The evicted remains from the House of Burns Memorial Chapel at 195 South Blvd. were temporarily sent and stored at the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office. The remains will be released to the right claimants or licensed funeral homes, Pontiac Medical Examiner's administrator Robert Gerds told the Detroit Free Press. The chapel owned by the Burns family met the end of its 30-year business Friday when the eviction notice from the 50th District Court in Pontiac took effect. Sympathetic customers helped movers put on pickup trucks furniture and other things from the property Friday morning as police watched.
