Albany, NY (AHN) - Crews from New York state's two utility firms are still working Wednesday to restore electricity to 38,000 customers after Tuesday night's heavy snow storm cut power lines.

The National Grid and the New York State Electric & Gas are targeting to fix the outages Wednesday. The former has 25,000 customers without power mostly in the Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks while the latter has 13,000 affected customers, mostly in Catskills.

The snow storm caused trees to fall on power lines causing the outage. The storm dumped 15 inches of snow along the northwestern edge of the Catskill Mountains. Northern New York received 13 inches of rain.
