AHN Staff Baghdad, Iraq (AHN) - Three separate bombing attacks in central Baghdad wounded Iraqi's deputy oil minister Saheb Salman Qutub and killed six others and wounded 21 more on Monday, authorities said. Police said Qutub was hurt when a bomb exploded in his home while he was preparing to leave in the northern Ataifiyah neighborhood in the capital. Two simultaneous explosions also killed six people and wounded 21 others in a central Baghdad square also on Monday. Security officials who asked not be names said 10 officers were included in those injured in the twin bombings that also caused heavy damage to shops along the Tahariyat square in the predominantly Shiite area known as Rusafa in the eastern part of the capital. Police are still investigating the incidents and did not provide more details on the condition of Qutub.
