AHN Staff Khar, Pakistan (AHN) - Two suicide bombers killed 17 pro-government tribesmen and two paramilitary troops in separate attacks in northwestern Pakistan on Thursday. The Taliban-linked group calling itself Caravan-e-Naimatullah admitted responsibility for the bombing of a tribal meeting in Bajaur Agency that killed 17 people, including a tribal leader, and injured 40 others. A suicide bomber detonated himself as the Salarzai tribe's militia were leaving to raid hideouts of militants in the area, Iqbal Khattak, a government official, told CNN. In the Mingora area of Swat Valley, a suicide car bomber crashed into a security checkpoint killing two paramilitary troops and wounding 20 others.
