Superman Star Brandon Routh Talks "Fling" And "Porno" At Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival Premiere

Ft. Lauderdale, FL (CNS) -- Brandon Routh, better known as this generation's Superman from the 2006 "Superman Returns" film, left the suit at home for his new sexy drama, "Fling," premiering this week at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.

In the film, an attractive young couple begin to flirt with having an open relationship when Sam (Courtney Ford) finds herself drawn back into the arms of her ex-boyfriend James, played by Routh.

The film shows Routh in a much more relaxing and and not lifting airplanes on his shoulders, the way people are used to seeing him. "It was great to do something completely different. I do a lot more talking and listening and not have to do so many stunts. It was very relaxing," Routh said.

In the film, Routh also gets to play opposite his wife, Courtney Ford, for the first time. "We actually separately both got parts in this movie and it just serendipitously worked out."

The hard-R rated comedy, "Zack & Miri Make a Porno," opened last week and Routh's small role as a gay porn star had critics and audiences howling and he was named by some critics as a scene-stealer. "I can't take all the credit. Justin Long does a great job, it's a great character and Seth Rogen and the whole team are just hilarious," Routh said.

Routh has even more comedy projects in the works which will release next year. When asked if he preferred green screen stunts and a red cape or on-camera love scenes with his wife, he joked: "Hmm... both at the same time?"
