Port-au-Prince, Haiti (AHN) - A three-storey concrete school building in Haiti collapsed Friday crushing to death at least 30 people, mostly students.

Local authorities, volunteers, United Nations peacekeepers and aid workers from the International Red Cross and Doctors Without borders pulled bodies and rescued survivors from under the rubble of the collapsed La Promesse school in the capital's shantytown of Petionville on Friday. Doctors Without Borders counted 85 seriously injured students brought to hospitals.

According to the Haitian police, classes were being held at the school when the entire structure crumbled to the ground after the second floor collapsed at 10 a.m. Students from kindergarten up were inside when the building collapsed.
