Anthony Jones - Celebrity News Service Contributor Los Angeles, CA (CNS) -- Drew Barrymore, star of films like "Charlie's Angels" and next year's "He's Just Not That Into You," joined thousands of protestors into the wee hours of the night in West Hollywood to oppose the passing of Proposition 8, the controversial California initiative to ban gay marriage in California. "Thank you for allowing us be a part of this," Barrymore said into the megaphone to the protestors. "So many people that I love are being affected by this, people who have defined who I am." "This cannot happen. We have to change this," Barrymore continued. "This is so wrong. With all my heart, I could not feel more passionate about this." "I am honored to be in your presence and I will fight with you," she said. "Thank you so much. No on Prop 8! No on Prop 8! No on Prop 8!" Barrymore shouted. The march lasted over eight hours, ending with a sit-in at the intersection of San Vicente and Santa Monica in California. Barrymore grabbed the megaphone at around 2 a.m. to speak the crowd of gays, friends of gays, and equal rights supporters. Protests have been ongoing since Wednesday and are planned to continue throughout the week.
