Denver, CO (CNS) - Actor Bill Pullman will receive the prestigious Cassavetes Award at the Starz Denver Film Festival on the last day of the festival, November 23. In addition to accepting his award, the star will bring his new movie, "Surveillance," directed by Jennifer Chambers Lynch, daughter of David Lynch.

Indie fans have come to love Pullman from his movies "Bottle Shock" and "The End of Violence."

Also at the festival will be Cedar Daniels, son of Denver rocker Chris Daniels, who is bringing his documentary "The Third Wave" to the festival on November 22 and 23. Cedar edited the movie, which details the 2004 tsunami in Sri Lanka.

Word on the street is that when Daniels screened the film at the Cannes Film Fest, jury president Sean Penn went wild for it and said it was the type of movie that inspires the very best in people. "Just when we need that most, and [the film] comes as close to answering our purpose in life, more than any other film in my recent memory," he said.

The Starz Denver Film Festival organizers are hoping that actress Gwyneth Paltrow will show up for the November 22 screening of her movie "Two Lovers." She will be close by, as Coldplay hits the Pepsi Center the night before - and she travels with the band whose frontman is her husband Chris Martin.
