Sun, LA (AHN) - Eight people have been arrested in the shooting death of an Oklahoma woman who traveled to Louisiana to be initiated into the Ku Klux Klan.

The Tulsa, Oklahoma woman, who had traveled by bus to Louisiana for initiation rites into the Klan, reportedly intended to return home and begin a branch of the Klan there. Her identity has not been released, but she was reportedly recruited over the internet to join the white supremest hate group.

She had already completed at least some of the initiation rites at a camp about 60 miles north of New Orleans, when she asked to be driven into town. An argument ensued with the group's leader, Chuck Foster, 44.

Authorities allege that Foster then shot and killed the woman and her body was concealed. He has been charged with second-degree murder while the seven others in the group have been charged with trying to conceal a body.

The group burned the victim's clothes, then Foster's son went to a store in Bogalusa early Monday morning and asked a clerk how to remove blood from clothing. The store clerk later called the police who investigated and found the woman's body covered with leaves.

Police also found weapons and six Klan robes.

Authorities said the group calls themselves the Dixie Brotherhood. People familiar with hate groups say this group is not a typical Klan group.
