Washington, D.C. (AHN) - The American Humanist Association will spend $40,000 on a holiday ad campaign to reach out to people who often feel left out during the Christmas season.
They are placing advertisements in newspapers and on buses and billboards in the metro area of the nation's capital that will read, "Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness' sake."
The ads are designed to reach out to "agnostics, atheists and other types of nontheists who feel a little alone during the holidays because of its association with traditional religion," Fred Edwords, spokesman for the humanist group, said at a press conference at the National Press Club.
