Miami, FL (CNS) -- Taylor Lautner is feeling the pressure of starring as Jacob Black in the year's most anticipated movie, "Twilight." The first film adaptation based on the hugely popular saga of books by Stephenie Meyer, "Twilight" hits theaters on Friday and the 16-year-old from Grand Rapids, Michigan is the youngest cast member of the hot young Hollywood-filled thriller.

"At first I was a little bit nervous about that but if you think about it, I'm only a year and a half younger than Kristen (Stewart, who co-stars as Bella). But the cast is really friendly and we all had great chemistry and we all got along. I honestly don't feel the age difference," Lautner tells Celebrity News Service. Lautner's character Jacob is introduced in the first film, but the character plays a much bigger part in the following books, which will surely see film adaptations if Twilight's readers all make trips to the theater.

With an already established rabid fan base following him since his casting in the role, the teen actor revealed that he's definitely feeling the pressure. "It's hard not to feel pressure when you're part of a series that's sold this many copies and the fans behind it are absolutely obsessed and want it to be perfect," he said. "Of course, I feel pressure bringing these people's character of Jacob Black to life and I want to do it well for them. But at the same time, I'm very excited. But I'm also very confident that we put 110% into this and the fans are going to be very proud." Lautner is best known for his previous roles in "Cheaper By The Dozen 2" and as Sharkboy in "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D," which he touts as "an amazing experience."

"I've had the chance to work with a lot of talented directors, like Robert Rodriguez, and talented actors, like Steve Martin," he said. "I'm super lucky. I'm just really thankful. Now I've moved away a little from the family films and now I'm doing 'Twilight,' with Catherine Hardwicke. I'm very excited. I'm blessed." As for whether we'll see the page turning story of Bella, Edward and Jacob hit the screen in New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, Lautner says, "Nobody talks about anything about sequels. Catherine won't even go there. I've tried."
