AHN Staff New York, NY (AHN) - The former prostitute who had a February tryst with ex-New York governor Eliot Spitzer that soon cost him his job, has apologized to Mrs. Spitzer in her first magazine interview after the scandal. "I'm sorry for your pain," Ashley Dupre said in an interview with People magazine which will hit newsstands Friday. Dupre, 23, said the look of Spitzer's wife Silda flashes back to her memory whenever she recalls the governor announcing his resignation on TV in March. "I try not to revisit that place too often, but when I think about his speech, I think of her face, her eyes, the hurt," Dupre said. The former escort known as Kristen at the Emperor's Club VIP admitted she didn't know that Client No. 9, whom she met at Washington's Mayflower Hotel on Valentine's eve, until he saw him on TV resigning. She said he had no security detail when they met. Federal prosecutors did not charge Spitzer but four people were charged for running a prostitution business. Meanwhile, Dupre plans to become a singer.
