Ramon Air Base, Israel (AHN) - The Israeli Air Force on Wednesday said they are "training like hell" in anticipation of any conflict the Jewish state might encounter anytime.

Colonel Ziv Levy, commander of the Ramon Air Base, the IAF has been conducting day and night mission trainings since the 2006 Second Lebanon War, which has killed over 160 Israelis, mostly soldiers, and over 1,200 Lebanese mostly civilians.

Lieutenant Colonel Gil, commander of the Magic Touch (Apache helicopters) squadron, and Lieutenant Colonel Amnon, commander of the Negev (F-16Ifighters) squadron, add the air base had been conducting various military operations and combat simulations to better protect the nation.

Levy said the Jewish state is constantly under threat from traditional enemies like Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah, therefore its armed forces must always be ready to undertake any mission.

To prepare Israel from any conflict, the IAF is acquiring new technology and smart, unique weapons to adjust to new capabilities of its enemies. Levy said the air force cannot afford to commit any failure.

The Israeli Defense Force on Wednesday organized a press tour to showcase IAF's capabilities against any threats.

When asked if the press tour is connected to any immediate action of the IDF, Gabriel Castelan, spokesman for the IDF answered in the negative.

But Levy admits Iran's nuclear program, poses a threat to Israel and its armed forces are ready against possible conflict with the Islamic republic.

The U.S. and its Western allies have accused Tehran of secretly trying to produce nuclear weapons under the guise of a civilian program, but Iran vehemently denies any charge.

Both the U.S. and Israel have not ruled out any military action against Iran to destroy its nuclear weapons ambition.

In January 2007, Times Online reported that Israel has drawn up a secret plan to destroy Iran's nuclear facility using a tactical low-yield nuclear "bunker-buster" missiles.
