'Pacman' Reinstated, Returns To Cowboys Early December

Arlington, TX (AHN) - The stars couldn't have realigned at a much better time for the Cowboys. First, it was Tony Romo back in Dallas. A few days later, Adam Jones will follow suit come December.

The trouble-prone cornerback, aka "Pacman", was reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell Wednesday prompting owner Jerry Jones to reinsert the controversial player back to the lineup within the next two weeks.

The Cowboys owner said Wednesday that Jones can play on December 7 when the team travels to Pittsburgh.

The third-year West Virginia standout has to sit out the next two home games for the Cowboys-this Sunday against San Francisco and the Thanksgiving affair opposite Seattle.

The team owner refused to elaborate on the specifics behind Jones' reinstatement.

The commissioner's office also did not make any comments on the issue, though Jones said the league will release a formal statement before the weekend.

Jones last played on October 12 in a 30-24 defeat to Arizona and two days later was suspended indefinitely by the league.

The suspension stemmed from an alleged alcohol-related incident in a Dallas hotel on October 7, when he reportedly got into an altercation with one of his bodyguards tasked to monitor his behavior.

Several days later, Jones was entered into an alcohol treatment facility center, where he stayed for 30 days.

In six games this season, Jones made 25 tackles with one forced fumble and six pass deflections.

He spent the first two campaigns with Tennessee and has a total of 141 tackles, one sack and four interceptions in his three-year career.

Romo returned last week from a three-game absence due to a finger injury and helped the Cowboys beat Washington 14-10.

At 6-4, Dallas is three games behind the New York Giants (9-1) for the NFC East Division lead and trail the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-3) for the top wild-card spot in the conference.
