London, England (BANG) - Britain's Prince Charles was given a poster of himself for his birthday by close friend Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.

Tara - who enjoyed regular skiing trips with the prince and his sons Princes William and Harry up until 2004 - flew from her home in Switzerland to London to attend the prince's 60th birthday party last week, and spotted the picture in the lounge at Zurich airport.

She said: "There was this poster of Charles which showed his wearing the same ski-suit for four years in a row with a motto saying, 'When something is good, we don't change it.'"

"We got them to take it down, but they didn't mind - the Swiss love Prince Charles!"

Tara had planned to give Charles a pair of binoculars encrusted with Swarovski crystals, but now intends to give the gift to Prince William instead.

She added to Britain's The Daily Mail newspaper: "I decided to give the binoculars to William, although he hasn't seen them yet. And don't suggest he would do anything other than bird watch with them - he has a lovely girlfriend who I'm very fond of."

Tara's parents, Charles and Patti are old family friends of Prince Charles, with the prince also rumored to be Tara's godfather. The Palmer-Tomkinsons enjoyed holidays with Charles and his family three times a year when Tara was younger, propelling Tara into the public eye in 1994.
