David Goodhue - AHN Reporter Tucson, AZ (AHN) - An Arizona prosecutor filed a motion to drop one of two murder charges against an 8-year-old boy accused of murdering his father and his father's roommate. Apache County Attorney Chriss Candelaria filed the one-paragraph motion, which gave no reason for the request, only stating "the state believes the interest of justice will be served by such a dismissal." The boy was arrested on Nov. 7 after his father, Vincent Romero, 29, and Tim Romans, 39, were found dead in two separate locations in Romero's home on Nov. 5. Romans was renting a room from Romero. Police say the boy confessed to shooting the men with a .22-caliber rifle. The boy has not entered a plea in the case, and one of his defense attorneys said he was not read his rights and did not have an attorney or a parent with him during questioning.
