Washington, DC (AHN) - President-elect Barack Obama and his wife Michele have chosen the prestigious Sidwell Friends School for their daughters' education.

Alumni of the pricey Quaker school include former first daughters Chelsea Clinton and Tricia Nixon and former Vice President Al Gore's son, Al Gore III. Vice President-elect Joe Biden has three grandchildren who attend the school.

Malia Obama, 10, will attend the middle school, located in Northwest Washington, D.C., and 7-year old Sasha will attend the elementary campus, located in Bethesda, Md.

An Obama spokeswoman said the school was chosen because it is able to accommodate security and privacy concerns of children of heads of states.

Tuition for the elementary school is $28,442. Middle school tuition is $29,442
