(AHN) - Premier league club Manchester City has their sights on Juventus's Gianluigi Buffon and is willing to empty its pockets to acquire the star goalkeeper.

Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed is allegedly willing to shell out $94 million in order to persuade the Old Lady directors to part company with the keeper.

In addition, the 30-year old has reportedly been offered a five-year contract worth $18.8 million per season.

Juventus paid €52 m for Buffon in 2001, making him the world's most expensive goalkeeper.

In 2003, he received the UEFA Most Valuable Player and Best Goalkeeper awards and was Italy's goalkeeper when they won the 2006 World Cup.

Apparently no amount of money would interest the world's best goalkeeper from parting ways with Juventus, but that will not stop Man. City from pursuing him.
