New York, NY (AHN) - New York Jets rookie quarterback Erik Ainge was suspended four games Friday for violating the league's policy on steroids and related substances.

Ainge is already on injured reserve and out for the season with a foot injury, but now he will not be allowed to be with the team or at its facility during the suspension until Dec. 15.

The 22-year old fifth round pick out of Tennessee is the second Jets player suspended for violating the steroid policy this season.

Running back Jesse Chatman was banned for the first four games without pay for a similar infraction.

Ainge is the nephew of Celtics great Danny Ainge and fourth on the depth chart behind Brett Favre, Kellen Clemens and Brett Ratliff.
