Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Following the demise of superheroes Superman and Captain America, Batman will be killed off in an upcoming issue of DC Comics entitled "Batman RIP."
Writer Grant Morrison confirms the rumors of the superhero's death in a new interview, saying they would be replacing him with a new character, which he declined to reveal.
He told Comic Book Resources, "What I am doing is a fate worse than death, things that no one would expect to happen to these guys at all."
It has been speculated that Batman's manner of death would be gruesome when his sidekick Robin goes over to the other side of the law and betrays him.
There are also speculations that Bruce Wayne, the caped crusader's alter ego, will either retire from his night job or be killed by a villain named Black Glove.
Batman's death will be published on November 26.
Superheroes Superman and Captain America also met their end in the comics. Superman was killed in 1992 by villain Doomsday, while Captain America died last year after a sniper shot him in New York.
