Bergen, NJ (CNS) - Whitney Houston has been sued by her stepmother over her late father's will. The singer/actress allegedly cheated her dad's wife of his estate.

Barbara Houston has filed the lawsuit against the multi-award winning singer in May, claiming that although Whitney was the beneficiary of her late husband's $1 million life insurance policy, she was supposed to get a share.

According to the papers obtained by TMZ, Whitney was instructed to use the money to pay off his apartment mortgage and hand over the title to the property and any remaining cash to her stepmother. But, as Barbara insists, she has not received anything from the singer.

Whitney has denied the claims.
