Baghdad, Iraq (AHN) - A rocket attack on Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone killed two UN contractors and wounded 15 others on Saturday.

The area houses government offices and many foreign embassies.

The attack came days after the Iraqi Parliament approved a security pact allowing U.S. troops to stay in the country for another three years.

The workers were from a catering company contracted by the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, the BBC reported.

Such attacks were common in Iraq, but have waned after a cease-fire earlier this year between the Iraqi government and radical Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr.

Al-Sadr condemned the agreement that leaves U.S. troops in Iraq until 2011. He called for three days of protest against the plan, stressing the demonstrations should be peaceful.

The U.S. military said the rockets used in the attack were made in Iran.
