Denver, CO (AHN) - A family of four was found dead inside an Aspen, Colo.-area home, the apparent victims of carbon monoxide poisoning, local police said.

Pitkin County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Marie Munday said technicians determined a malfunctioning water-heating system and snow-melting system flooded the home with high levels of carbon monoxide.
The sheriff's office identified the victims as 39-year-old Parker Lofgren, 42-year-old Caroline Lofgren, and their children, Owen, 10, and Sophie, 8.
Police say friends found the family at a house they were staying in while visiting Aspen from Denver.
