AHN Staff California (AHN) - The Shuttle Endeavour has successfully returned home and landed at te Edwards Air Force Base in California instead from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida because of bad weather. The space shuttle returned safely after they repair parts of the International Space Station (ISS) around 1:25 p.m. local time. Nasa officials said it would cost them an additional $1.8 million to ferry the Endeavor back to Florida, atop a Boeing 747. The 16-day mission had been extended by another day because NASA wants the astronauts to overhaul and repair a machine that transforms urine into drinking water. The Endeavor was piloted by Commander Christopher Ferguson. A seventh astronaut, Greg Chamitoff, also returned to Earth after staying more than six months in space.
