London, England (CNS) - The Killers' Day & Age has beaten Guns N' Roses latest album Chinese Democracy to the top of the U.K. albums chart. Sales figures of the Axl Rose's album will not be available until Wednesday (December 3), but early estimates put the first-week total at 300,000 copies (including a reported 25,000 downloads at iTunes on November 23 not counted towards the opening week for the Sunday release), reports Blabbermouth.

Guns N' Roses have to settle for a number two debut with Chinese Democracy, their first studio album in 15 years. Kanye West is now at Number 11 with his new LP 808s & Heartbreak, but is slated to be No. 1 on next week's Billboard chart with a total that looks to be between 450,000 and 500,000.

Coldplay charted at 38 with their Prospekt's March EP. Meanwhile, Welsh singer Rhydian, the runner-up on last year's X Factor, has secured a No. 3 spot with his self-titled debut.
