Mike Rothman - AHN Sports Contributor Liverpool, EN (AHN) - It was triumph and tragedy for David Moyes as he coached his 300th game as Everton manager. The team pulled out a 1-0 win against Tottenham, but lost Ayegbeni Yakubu for the year with an Achilles injury. Yakubu fell awkwardly early on in the contest, leaving the team without many attacking players. Striker James Vaughn is having knee surgery. This leaves Moyes little time for celebration. He will be looking for loan signings when the January transfer window opens to bolster his attacking options for the rest of the year. Moyes might look no further than his midfield, including Steven Pienaar, to help support his ailing attack. Pienaar scored the loan goal in Moyes's 300th game. Moyes, 45, was the 2003 and 2005 League Managers Association Manager of the Year and has been coaching Everton since March 2002. Moyes has spent much of his playing career preparing for management, taking coaching badges at just 22 years of age and compiling notes on managers he had played under, their techniques and tactics This year might be his most difficult as manager, having to do without Yakubu's 18 goals or so for the rest of the season.
