Britney Spears Is Yahoo's Most Searched Term For 2008

Sunnyvale, CA (CNS) - Britney Spears is the most searched term on the Internet for 2008, according to Yahoo! This is the comeback princess' fourth year in a row, and her seventh in the last eight years.

It seems Spears really captivates her audience, from her very public breakdown last year to her cleaning act this year. And judging from the public's reaction to her newly released album Circus and her recent performances, will we will be seeing more of her next year.

World Wrestling Entertainment comes at second place this year, while President-elect Barack Obama ranks just a notch higher of teen star Miley Cyrus at third place.

Cyrus, meanwhile, tops the website's Celebrity Brat Pack list, while Spears' younger sister Jamie Lynn ranks 7th. Reel and real life "High School Musical" sweethearts Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron also made the list at 2nd and 9th respectively.

Angelina Jolie, who topped 9th in the Top 10 Most Searched Term, has ranked 1st place in the Top 10 Influential Women list. She has beaten out Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Oprah Winfrey and Hillary Clinton.

Heath Ledger's death is the most shocking departure that hit the world wide web this year, followed by comedian Bernie Mac's. Paul Newman and Isaac Hayes also made the list.
