Atlanta, GA (AHN) - The Atlanta Braves made a move to shore up their pitching rotation Tuesday, reportedly acquiring Javier Vazquez and a reliever in exchange for a pitcher and two prospects from the Chicago White Sox.

Vazquez, headed to Atlanta for a physical, would be a solid addition to the Braves rotation, posting double-digit wins the last nine seasons.

He is also just 32-years-old, so he could have a few years left in his right arm.

A downside is his record was just 12-16 in 2008 and his ERA (4.67) ballooned nearly a point from the previous campaign.

Another negative for the Braves would be the loss of power-hitting catching prospect Tyler Flowers, a 6-foot-4, 248-pounder from Marietta who led the recent Arizona Fall League with 12 home runs.

It is not certain Flowers is involved in the deal, but the White Sox are reportedly salivating about his addition to their organization.

Pitcher Jo-Jo Reyes and Brett Lillibridge are also reportedly headed to the White Sox.

The Braves are expected to land reliever Boone Logan if the deal gets completed.
