Maplewood, NJ (AHN) - Constitution Arms, of New Jersey, has introduced the Palm Pistol, a double action 9mm handgun that is designed for sufferers of arthritis.

According to their Web site, the Palm Pistol is designed for seniors, the disabled or those with limited hand strength. As Medgadget.com reported, firing normal handguns puts significant stress on the wrist and hand joints, while even pulling the trigger can be impossible for some.

According to Constitution Arms, the FDA has formally designated the gun as a "medical gadget," and the makers are seeking a prescription status for the weapon, meaning patients may be able to get reimbursement through Medicare or private insurance companies.
