AHN Staff Little Rock, AR (AHN) - Arkansas state authorities on Wednesday removed six more children from an undisclosed Tony Alamo Christian Ministries (TACM) location and took protective custody of the minors. The Arkansas Department of Human Services did not say where the children were taken but its spokeswoman, Julie Munsell assured the siblings are in good health. Another TACM compound in Santa Clarita, California was also visited by federal agents Wednesday but no children were taken. The seizure of the six children in Arkansas brings to 32 the total number of TACM children taken into custody by the department since Sept. 20. The children were seized because they were allegedly sexually abused and beaten by the jailed 74-year-old leader of the church, evangelist Tony Alamo. Alamo is in jail in Texarkana awaiting his February trial on 10 charges of taking children across state lines for sex.
