Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Kathie Lee Gifford is hit with a $1 million lawsuit from a disgruntled musician who claims she stole his idea for her TV show segment.

Composer Harold Johns filed a lawsuit against the TV presenter and NBC for allegedly plagiarizing his idea for Gifford's "Everyone Has a Story" sketch on the "Today Show." The sketch will see Gifford writes a show-tune about the viewers who send their life stories to her.

However, Johns claims that he proposed a similar format in 2007 and that the network and Gifford stole it to use on the show.

He is asking $1 million in damages.
