Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service News Writer Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Russell Brand is set to play a drunken playboy in the remake adaptation of the 1981 romantic comedy "Arthur." The British comedian is developing a remake of the Dudley Moore-starrer film for Warner Bros, according to the Hollywood Reporter. He is meeting with screenwriters for the project. The original film tells the story of Arthur Bach, a drunken playboy millionaire who is in danger of being cut off from the family fortune unless he marries a wealthy heiress. However, he meets a poor working class woman and falls in love with her instead. Brand has entered the U.S. film scene with his role as a narcissistic rocker in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." He also hosted the MTV Video Music Awards this year.
