Kris Alingod - AHN Contributor Washington, D.C. (AHN) - A month after a historic win in an election full of firsts, the campaign of President-elect Barack Obama said it raised nearly $750 million in total, more than the combined amount raised by President George W. Bush and Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) in the 2004 election. The campaign filed a report with the Federal Election Commission on Thursday that said it had raised $104 million from Oct. 16 through Nov. 24. The disclosure adds to the $642 million raised by the campaign through Oct. 15, bringing the total amount raised by Obama, the first nominee of a major political party to refuse federal funding, to $746 million. Bush and Kerry both raised less than $650 million four years ago. Obama had raised $150 million in September, shattering all records. His previous bests were $66 million in August and $55 million in February. His fundraising has relied on small, online donors.
