Chicago, IL (AHN) - Embattled Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich told reporters he will break his week-long silence later this week and finally tell his side of the story over charges he tried to sell President-elect Barack Obama's Senate seat.

Blagojevich, who has refused to acknowledge reporters' questions or comment on the allegations up to this point, briefly addressed the media throng surrounding his Chicago home for the first time since his arrest.

"I can't wait to begin to tell my side of the story and to address you guys and most importantly the people of Illinois, that's who I'm dying to talk to," the governor said.

"There's a time and place for everything. That day will soon be here and you might know more about that today and no later than tomorrow," Blagojevich added.

Blagojevich, who is a self-proclaimed Elvis fanatic, referenced his favorite artist when asked by a reporter if and when he is planning on breaking his silence over federal corruption charges.

"To quote Elvis, 'hang loose.' Now can I get a run in, do you think?" Blagojevich joked.
