Buffalo, NY (AHN) - Buffalo Bulls coach Turner Gill has earned a contract extension through to 2013, as well as a raise, following a very successful season this year.
"On the day I came here to be the head coach I told my team that one day we would be successful here at the University at Buffalo," Gill said in a statement.
While the exact details were not disclosed, Gill is expected to become one of the highest-paid coaches in the MAC Conference.
Gill began his coaching career in 1989. He had his longest tenure in Nebraska from 1992-2004, where he worked as a quarterback and wide receiver coach.
He made a brief appearance with the Packers as assistant coach in 2005, where he specialized in player development.
The University of Buffalo was his first stop as a head coach, and he just bagged his first winning season at 8-5, finishing first in the MAC and earning a bowl appearance
