Minneapolis, MN (AHN) - Ryan Longwell drilled a 50-yard field goal in the waning seconds, lifting the Minnesota Vikings to a 20-19 win over the New York Giants Sunday.

The Vikes (10-6) clinched the NFL North and sealed a playoff berth with the conquest.

The Giants (12-4) played hard throughout, despite clinching home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs with last week's win vs. Carolina.

Minnesota came back from a 19-10 deficit to win it, including Bernard Berrian's 54-yard pass play from quarterback Tarvaris Jackson with 9:35 remaining.

Although the game was esentially meaningless for the Giants, New York should be concerned about setting for four field goals from John Carney, covering 51, 30, 42 and 20 yards.

The Giants lone touchdown came on Domenik Hixon's 23-yard pass play with quarterback David Carr.

Carr relieved Eli Manning after about a half of action, so the starter would not risk getting jurt for the upcoming playoffs.

New York had an advantage in most of the stats, including first downs (19-15) and yardage (357-328).

Minnesota had the bigger plays, however, including Adrian Peterson's 67-yard scoring dash in the opening quarter.
