Shannon Moore - Celebrity News Service Reporter Milan, Italy (CNS) - The fashion world is turning to "green friendly" products to keep sales going and Italian designer Ferragamo is no different. The luxury accessories and handbag designer has launched a new line of environmentally friendly bags called Eco Ferragamo. The new bags will be available in stores in the spring of 2009 and boast a leather tanning technique that results in metal-free colored leathers without pollutants and toxins. According to WWD, the company uses dyes that are found in tree barks. The purses are also biodegradable and water resistant. Ferragamo produces luxury shoes, leather goods accessories, fragrances and apparel for men and women. Environmentally-conscious shoppers are hoping the designer will soon spread the "green friendly" idea to other products the company offers.
