Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Theatergoers will have a chance to revisit "Gilligan's Island" after creator Sherwood Schwartz decided to resurrect the 60s sitcom as a film.

Schwartz and his son Lloyd have inked a deal to produce a film based on the classic series.
He tells TV Guide, "Just happened in the last 48 hours. I can't take this much excitement at my age."
If all goes well, the eponymous Gilligan will be played by "Juno" actor Michael Cera and R&B songstress Beyonce Knowles will play movie star Ginger Grant.
The planned film doesn't have a production date set yet, and no actors have been confirmed.
"Gilligan's Island" aired for three seasons on the CBS from 1964 to 1967.
