Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service News Writer New York, NY (CNS) - British comedy "Happy-Go-Lucky" has almost swept the 43 Annual National Society of Film Critics Awards on Saturday, taking home four trophies including Best Director for Mike Leigh. Meanwhile, the animated documentary "Waltz with Bashir" won the top prize award with Best Picture. And since the film, a documentary about the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon, was in foreign language, the society decided to forego this year's Best Film in a Foreign Language category. Sean Penn unsurprisingly garnered another Best Actor trophy for his role as a homosexual politician in "Milk," while top favorites from other award-giving bodies such as "Doubt," "Frost/Nixon," and Brad Pitt's "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" failed to win a single award. The winners of the 43rd Annual National Society of Film Critics Awards: Best Picture: "Waltz with Bashir" Best Actor: Sean Penn for "Milk" Best Actress: Sally Hawkins for "Happy-Go-Lucky" Best Director: Mike Leigh for "Happy-Go-Lucky" Best Supporting Actor: Eddie Marsan for "Happy-Go-Lucky" Best Supporting Actress: Hanna Schygulla for "The Edge of Heaven" Best Screenplay: Mike Leigh for "Happy-Go-Lucky" Best Nonfiction Film: "Man on Wire" Best Cinematography: "Slumdog Millionaire" Best Experimental Film: "Razzle Dazzle"
