Actor Sam Shepard Arrested For Alleged DUI And Speeding

Normal, IL (CNS) - Playwright and actor Sam Shepard has been arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol in Illinois early Saturday.

Police Lt. Mark Kotte of the local police department said that Shepard, 65, had a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit when he was stopped in Normal.

Shepard is also accused of speeding at 46mph in a 30 mph area.

The actor told police he had been at a pub in a nearby town. He was traveling from Minnesota back to his Kentucky home. He was released on bail, although it's still not clear when he must report back.
