Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" Gets Release Date

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" has been given a released date. The Weinstein Company has announced that the WWII film will hit theaters on August 21.

The film, starring Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger and Mike Myers, will compete against other late summer releases including "Final Destination: Death Trip 3D" and "The Goods: The Don Ready Story."

The film will follow two story lines. One would follow a group of prisoners who plot to take down he Nazis, and the other would focus on a young Jewish woman seeking revenge on the Nazis who killed her parents.

Weinstein and Universal Pictures are co-financing the film. The production kicked off in October.
