Jersey City, NJ (AHN) - New Jersey and Pennsylvania police are looking for the body of a dead baby boy in local dump sites after it was apparently thrown out with the trash at a Jersey City hospital.

The remains of the infant, who was either stillborn or died shortly after birth on Dec. 21, was no longer at the morgue of the Christ Hospital when a funeral home employee went to pick it up for burial on Jan. 2. The search ensued for 26-year-old Kalynn Moore's dead baby named Bashere Davon Moyd Jr.

Moore's cousin Nicia Royster was the last relative to see the baby's corpse when she and a nurse placed it at the hospital's morgue. Moore claimed the baby was alive when it was born but hospital officials claim it was stillborn.

However, officials of Christ Hospital are not disputing the police's statement that the corpse was discarded.

Moore's lawyer said a lawsuit against the hospital is likely, according to Fox News.
