'Mummified' Corpse Of 59-Yr-Old Woman Found Several Months After Death

Manila, Philippines (AHN) - The 'mummified' corpse of a 59-year-old woman believed to have died in April last year, was discovered inside her condominium unit in Makati City, Philippines on Tuesday, authorities say.

Police say the victim, Zenaida Montoya, was believed to have died several months ago, before her decomposed body was found by her relatives who forced opened her condominium unit.

Relatives of Montoya, said the businesswoman was last seen on April 12 after being confined in a hospital south of the capital Manila due to diarrhea. She returned to her condominium in Makati after two days, it was said.

Since then, the relatives did not have any communication from the victim, who was described to be a loner and kept to herself.

The victim's body was still in her pajamas and wearing diapers when found. Relatives described Montoya as if she was "mummified."
