Gunshots Fired At Israelis From Syria

Jerusalem, Israel (AHN) - Gunshots were fired at a car in northern Israel from Syria on Sunday, the second incident of cross-border violence since the Israeli Defense Force invaded Gaza more than two weeks ago, the Jerusalem Post reports.
The IDF said the car was carrying civilians, and despite some damage to the car, no one was injured. The IDF also said it was almost confident the shots were not fired from the Syrian military, but likely Palestinians protesting the Gaza operation and trying to start tensions on a second front.
The incident happened in the Golan Heights, which Israel captured from Syria in 1967.
The IDF filed a complaint with the UN group monitoring the ground in the area.
Last Thursday, two people in an Israeli retirement village were wounded when Katyusha rockets were fired into the northern city of Nahariya from Syria.
