Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - It's hard to believe it has been a year since "American Idol" fans sat in their living rooms and screamed for one of the David's to win the seventh season of the hit singing reality show. While David Cook walked away the winner last year, it is time again to turn our attention to a new year and another winner.
Celebrity News Service has been a fan of "American Idol" since the beginning, and is looking forward to the premiere of season eight of "American Idol" on Tuesday night. The show kicks off with an additional judge, Kara DioGuardi, and a fresh batch of wannabe singers.
Judges Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell also return to tell us who is pitchy and who isn't. Ryan Seacrest again returns for hosting duties of the hit show.
In past seasons, three judges meant the vote was never split when it came to deciding who goes and who stays. In the new season, Cowell will make the decisions of who moves on to Hollywood when the vote is split 2-2 between the judges.
Cowell, who has previously said he will only stay on the show through the 10th season, will most likely enjoy his role as head judge and cause the other judges a bit of unhappiness along the way. Not to mention the contestants.
"American Idol" premieres Tuesday at 8 on Fox.
