AHN Staff Manteo, NC (AHN) - A small plane has crashed into a home in North Carolina amid bad weather but the pilot and its passenger survived with minor injuries while the three occupants in the house were not hurt. The pilot of the single-engine Piper Lance and his adult son were taken to the Outer Banks Hospital for treatment, according to Dare County spokeswoman Dorothy Toolan. The house's occupants, John Bartell, his wife Mandy and their 6-year-old daughter Bella, were unscathed from the accident. Bartell said he helped get the pilot and passenger out of the plane, which damaged the back of the house. He said the first words of the pilot was if the people in the house were okay. The plane was flying towards Dare County Regional Airport before it crashed. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
