New York, NY (CNS) - Green is definitely in when it comes to fashion. And if you've been paying attention to the fashion scene, you know CNS isn't talking about the color being in style.

We're talking about green fashion, as in eco-conscious and eco-friendly fashion. And it really is a trend - more and more stores are getting on the green fashion bandwagon.

Banana Republic is the latest store to climb aboard. The company has recently begun making more of its clothes with recycled fabrics and materials, and Women's Wear Daily reports the store also is complying with treatment processes that obey the Business for Social Responsibiity's clean water guidelines.

In addition, its new Heritage collection, which will debut this summer, has clothes made from organic soy silk, bamboo and cotton. If it's chic to be green, hopefully Banana Republic isn't the last store to make the transition.
